Celebrating Art in Downtown Allentown
Date: Aug 18, 2015
Summer Folk Art & Neighborhood Festival, 10:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Celebrate community and our collective history at a free neighborhood festival inspired by the exhibition A Shared Legacy: Folk Art in America. This day-long event will include folk art, craft demonstrations, music, and hands-on upcycle activities for all ages inside the Museum along with yoga, more music, and food in Arts Park, across from the Museum.
The festival will also include the premier of a series of promotional videos created by the Center City Initiative's Upside Allentown marketing committee. The videos are aimed at celebrating and showcasing the positive things happening in downtown, including its unique, diverse neighborhoods and the many exciting arts, cultural, entertainment, and dining options that make Center City the place that people want to live, work, and play. The videos can be viewed inside the Museum throughout the festival.
