Downtown Trends for an Up-and-Coming City

Date: Jul 09, 2015

There’s a lot of excitement building in downtown Allentown especially when it comes to new restaurants – most recently Shula’s Steak House. However, a new wave of fashion is coming our way to reinforce the local clothing stores along Hamilton Street. When you look around, Hamilton Street provides a variety of different clothing stores to suit your style with more to come!

For men, assembly88 offers fine apparel with brands like Vineyard Vines, Patagonia, Sperry and Red Wing Shoes. Women can shop the latest styles at Rainbow Shops, a boutique who believes “that every woman, regardless of shape or size, should enjoy fun, fashionable, and feminine clothing at an affordable price.” Every woman knows an outfit isn’t complete without the proper accessories. Sorrelli jewelry provides that to the women of downtown and surrounding areas. With dazzling, eye-catching displays, it will be hard to walk past the sparkles radiating from their storefront.

Both genders can enjoy New York Urban, which boasts hip hop fashion tailored to the classic urban resident. New York Urban’s sister store, The Archive appeals to a younger generation of the same demographics but featuring more contemporary fashions. Finally, Villa resides downtown offering similar styles for all ages and genders from your head to your toes and everything in between.

You can read about them or surf their websites all you want but until you try on the clothes and see downtown first hand, you won’t be able to experience the entire effect. So this weekend, grab your friends and make it a date to shop downtown for the latest clothes. You might even stumble into your new favorite store.

Also, look forward to the return of the popular boutique, Sage in August 2015. Previously at 14th and Tilghman, Sage is excited to announce that they will be divided into three storefronts near the ArtsWalk. Besides the classic Sage, carrying modern women’s fashions, Aquarius next door will offer for women similar to Free People. The third store has yet to be named but will feature a wide selection of footwear for downtown ladies.
