How Sweet it is to be in Downtown Allentown

Date: Aug 04, 2015

Thursday July 30th, Allentown finally got to experience Center Ice, the much-anticipated ice cream parlor and creperie. The newest downtown store opened its doors for passersby to check out the interior and sample some delicious gelato. They advertise themselves as a “family-friendly eatery...open for lunch, dinner and treats, (offering) mouthwatering gelato and yummy sweet and savory crepes.”

Some of those mouthwatering gelato flavors include grapefruit, dark chocolate and peanut butter. The owners have concocted unique but appetizing crepe selections. The Girl Scout Crepe contains dulce de leche, toasted coconut and chocolate drizzle similar to Samoas. Crepe a Nutter comprises peanut butter, banana and marshmallow fluff.

Center Ice offers more than just dessert though; they also have crepes as entrees. The Hawaiian Crepe mixes glazed ham with pineapple topping and the Caprese offers spinach pesto, tomato, mozzarella, and balsamic reduction.

To see all the sweet and savory choices, stop in at 722 Hamilton St anytime between 11am and 7pm. Whether you have a sweet tooth or not, Center Ice is a great spot to satisfy everyone’s palates.

The Saylor family, who owns Roar Social House, opened this new dining spot and is excited to announce that they will be opening Greenmouth Juice Bar and Cafe in August at the Arts Walk.
