What’s Happening on the ArtsWalk?

Head down to the ArtsWalk this Third Thursday and you will find the arts and businesses coming together better than ever! Enjoy live music by The Foztones and shop from local craft vendors, Bernadette Designs, AQB Mosaics, Idelogy Rocks and Symbiotic Trash.  

Also, at RE:find’s Gallery on the Walk there will be a special summer art show, "Landscapes, Cityscapes, Faces & Places" opening on Third Thursday. Across from the Gallery on the Walk, Allentown Arts Commission Artist Jill Odegaard, will be hosting a paper making workshop. Shopping on Third Thursday

While you shop around Downtown Allentown Thursday evening, there are a few places you must stop by! Swing by Nailplay Studio and check out two local artists, Barbara DeMattos and Rob Regal, their work will be on display and available to purchase. Next, make sure to check out Perfect Fit Resale Boutique as they host professor, author and advocate, Nichola Gutgold, to sign copies of her book and showcase some bridal boutique! 

Token is featuring two local vendors’ work this month. Purchase some of the beautiful healing crystals, precious stones, and other treasures from the earth with live terrariums, clever artworks in glass, and handmade jewelry by Britt Baker and Maggie Sorber. Lastly make sure that you head to I.O. Beauty Market from 6 – 7 for a Global Women’s Self Care Day Workshop!

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 


Your Dining Destinations

There’s a lot of restaurants to choose from in Downtown Allentown when you’re here for Third Thursday! But why not dine at the places hosting events for Destination Arts? This month The Dime is hosting Banana Factory Artist, Melissa Perhamus. Her work will be on display this evening for Third Thursday, so make sure you check out her work and enjoy a delicious cocktail during happy hour! 

The Hamilton Kitchen is getting jazzy with live music from Tony Gairo and Lou Lanza. Enjoy complimentary hors d'oeuvres starting at 5:30 p.m. Or if you’re more in the mood for beer, burgers, and a fun game of trivia with your friends – head to Bell Hall! There is a lot going on this month for Third Thursday! Here are so more things you don’t want to miss

Start your night off at Expressions Studio to view "Landscapes" and see the latest work from Ana Hamilton, Femi J. Johnson and Andi Grunberg before it’s gone! Then head to Liberty Bell Museum as they proudly present “Retro Reveries & Colorful Characters,” an exhibit by local artist Rosemary Geseck. Stop by the reception from 5-8 pm and enjoy beverages and light refreshments along with free admission to the gallery.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Fine Art Galleries at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center are thrilled to host an exhibit of gender liberating art from the pages of Jacinta Bunnell's iconic coloring book, Girls Will Be Boys Will Be Girls Will Be, which Bitch Magazine has called "a perfect alternative to gender saturated Disney-fare." The galleries will display enlarged prints from the coloring book from June 11-September 3 and invites the community to color on them throughout the exhibit. Then make your way over to The Baum School of Art, Francis Beaty will be hosting a free workshop. Using a variety of non-traditional materials, Francis will challenge the idea of what art is, who makes it, and what materials can be used to make art collaboratively. Or make your own masterpiece by making a reservation for Roey’s Paintbox this Thursday to help fundraise for the Lehigh Valley Phantoms Youth Girls Hockey U-12 team. Participants will be creating an 11" x 14" painting of the Star of Bethlehem, snacks and light refreshments will be provided. RSVP here.

End your evening by heading to The Mezzanine Galley at the Renaissance Hotel to view Femi J. Johnson's work or to The Monterey where Ann will have her latest Jazz paintings on display.
