Queer Memoir Reading Group: The Beatrix Gates

The Library at Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center invites the community to participate in the September 2020 Queer Memoir Reading Group featuring Lambda Literary Finalist, The Beatrix Gates, by Rachel Pollack. A queer cult favorite, The Beatrix Gates is a colorful mix of science fiction, magic realism, memoir, and myth exploring themes of spirituality and transformation. The New York Review of Science Fiction calls the book “the best feminist novel of the decade.”

Free paperback copies of the book are available for the first ten people to sign up and request a copy. This is a virtual event and advance RSVP is required. If you don’t need a free copy of the book, purchase your copy at this link and a percentage will be donated back to Bradbury-Sullivan LGBT Community Center. The book is available in paperback or ebook.

Email sharon@bradburysullivancenter.org to RSVP for the zoom link and to request a free copy of the book if you need one.

The Queer Memoir Reading Group is facilitated by Mary Foltz and is sponsored by Lehigh University’s South Side Initiative and The Humanities Center.  This program is also supported in part by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts.

The event is finished.
